Appeals
Read the Rules tab before making any posts in the appeals forum. You may not appeal game, job, or discord bans that last for 24 hours or less. You may not appeal github bans that last for one week or less. Ban appeals must use the template in the Template tab. Ban appeals must be titled correctly. Use the following titles for different ban types.
Replace "Byond Name", "Discord Name", "IRC Name", "Github Name", and "Banning Staff Name" with those names.
If a staff name is not known, use "Unknown". Where a / exists, remove the part that does not apply. Game Ban: Game Ban Appeal - Byond Name - Banning Staff Name Job Ban: Job Ban Appeal - Byond Name - Banning Staff Name Github Ban: Repository Ban - Github Name - Banning Staff Name Discord or IRC Ban: Discord/IRC Ban - Discord/IRC Name - Banning Staff Name Appeals may be rejected for any good reason, including but not limited to: failing to follow these rules, behavior in the appeal, behavior elsewhere, and prior behavior. The banning staff member will handle your appeal unless they are no longer staff or they request a more senior staff member to. You may ask them to. They do not have to. You may not post if you are not the banned person unless requested by the handling staff member, and then only to provide logs or other evidence. Opinions are not welcome. You may not post a new appeal unless more than 24 hours have passed if your appeal was denied. The handling staff member may increase this time at will. You may not bump your appeal unless more than 24 hours have passed since the last post. You may not post excerpts or personal interpretations of the rules. You should include logs, screenshots, and other evidence where needed in your appeal. You should be polite and use proper grammar and spelling in your appeal. You may contact a staff member if your appeal was accepted but your ban was not lifted. You may contact a senior staff member if you believe your appeal was handled unfairly. Player Complaints
Read the Rules tab before making any posts in the player complaints forum. Admins cannot be everywhere all the time. If another player has acted particularly poorly in any way and you would normally have used adminhelps to complain during a round, or has acted poorly over a number of rounds with no sign of improvement, you may make a complaint here. Player complaints are serious. We cannot take your word on a problem, and require evidence such as logs and screenshots, round IDs, etc. If you post a valid complaint, the subject of your complaint may be banned. If you don't want that to be a possibility, do not post the complaint. You may not post if you are not the original poster or the person being complained about unless you are requested to by the handling staff member, and then only to provide what that staff member specifically requests. Opinions are not welcome. You may not post joke or non-serious player complaints. You may be punished for doing so. You may not bump your player complaint unless more than 24 hours have passed since the last post. You may not post excerpts or personal interpretations of the rules. You should be polite and use proper grammar and spelling in your player complaint, and any responses to it. You may contact a senior staff member if you believe your player complaint was handled unfairly. Player complaints must use the template in the Template tab. Player complaints must be titled with either the byond name or character name of the complaint subject. Their BYOND username: Their character name: Your BYOND username: Your character name: Date, time, and game ID of incident: Who else can vouch for the situation: What happened: Evidence that shows the incident fully (logs, screenshots, recordings, etc.): -
Staff Complaints
Read the Rules tab before making any posts in the staff complaints forum. Staff members are human and humans make mistakes. If a staff member has done something against the staff rules or otherwise acted in an egregiously poor manner with their powers as a staff member, you may make a complaint here. This is not an appropriate place to make a complaint about a staff member's conduct as a player or community member. For that, you want Player Complaints instead. If you post a valid complaint, the subject of your complaint may be punished. If you don't want that to be a possibility, do not post the complaint. Staff complaints must use the template in the Template tab. Staff complaints must be titled with only the name of the staff member being complained about. You may not post if you are not the original poster or the person being complained about unless you are requested to by the handling staff member, and then only to provide what that staff member specifically requests. Opinions are not welcome. You may not post joke or spurious staff complaints. You may be punished for doing so. You may not post a staff complaint about an active ban. You must first have completed an appeal by having it accepted or denied. You may not post meta complaints about multiple separate issues. If there is more than one problem, post more than one thread. You may not bump your staff complaint unless more than 24 hours have passed since the last post. You may not post excerpts or personal interpretations of the rules. If one is relevant, state it's number only. You should be polite and use proper grammar and spelling in your staff complaint, and any responses to it. You may contact a senior staff member if you believe your staff complaint was handled unfairly.
