    About The Species

What alien species are you applying for?
    Dionaea

Why do you want to play as the alien species?
I've recently played some fun rounds as a nymph, and would like to be able to play the full gestalt

What are some example names for the alien species?
Really long poetic descriptions of formative memories, usually shortened for the sake of the human's sanity

A Dozen Small Ships Floating Towards A Dying Star That Flickers In The Void

The Shape Of The Dust As The Wind Swirls It Into The Distance

Summarize what you know about the species.

Dionaea are a race of plant-like creatures. Individually, they're a cat-sized insect-looking thing called a "Nymph." However, a typical Dionaea will be a gestalt, which can be anywhere from 3 nymphs clustered together to massive planet-sized clumps. These gestalts, while still technically a collection of nymphs, function as a single entity, although they still use the plural when talking about themselves.

Dionaea are curious creatures, as the whole reason they've spread out is to gather more information about everything. They're slow, both physically and mentally, but they're not stupid. They simply take a while to process information. They're also naturally pacifistic. They don't actively avoid violence, but a healthy Dionaea simply doesn't understand why any being would want to harm another.

Dionaea tend to pick up the habits of whatever creatures they are around. This includes: having a human form that vaguely moves like the real thing, respecting personal space, using singular pronouns for themselves, and language.

Dionaea communicate between themselves using naturally generated radio waves, with low frequency for short range and high for long range. This is known as rootspeak

Character Concept: (This is actually based off a nymph round I played recently)
Steel Boxes of Good Things Brought From Far Away By The Blue Ones (or Steel Boxes of Good Things) is a brand-new gestalt, having just recently merged on board the Torch. They managed to get a position as a deck technician, as their earliest memory is convincing the Javons to buy them a crate of hats. They still have yet to figure out a lot of human customs, like "wearing clothes" and "taking a form that bears a passing resemblance to a person," but they're trying. They really like collecting items (probably to the point of unwittingly stealing until someone explains to them that that's not okay), but have no qualms about lending said items out after they've had a chance to look at them for a while

Looks okay so far. Just for completions sake, could you give me another character concept for a gestalt maybe born amongst the skrell, or from the depths of space?

  3. A Silent Shuttle, Drifting Aimlessly Across the Darkened Void Towards Certain Doom
Drifting Aimlessly was "born" on a small Skrellian transport, one hauling a collection of nymphs and seeds out to border worlds. It achieved proper gestalt-ism in the hold, and, dragging the only surviving emergency light with it, discovered the injured pilot. Through the cockpit windows, a giant blue star was growing larger and larger. With the Skrell's help, Drifting Aimlessly was able to pilot the shuttle away from the star to safety on a human station. After repairs, the shuttle carried on its route, but DA elected to stay behind, learning to pilot from the people passing through the shipyards and eventually signing on with the Torch

DA is a poor emergency pilot. Its lack of response time makes it a liability where quick thinking is involved. But when it has time to prepare and map out the route, DA is reliable and efficient. It likes ships, and will do its best to learn the ins and outs of any vessel it gets to fly. It has been around non-dionaea long enough to adopt singular pronouns for itself, but still slips the occasional "we" or "us" in there
