In the most recent staff meeting, we raised the notion of continuing the spirit of the work Zuhayr did with character backgrounds and culture, which is to say that taking all of the lore from the wiki, where it is currently useless, and putting it into the actual game, which is great, is a pretty good way to move forward! An important and very useful way we can do this is "Dark Souls" style - namely, if you look at an item, it has a little blurb that expresses pieces of related lore. The Examine Tab You can see an example of this with many of the common Engineering tools, which make full use of the Examine tab to impart information about the game world. The trouble is the Examine tab sucks. It's a really cool idea that no one wants to use. It's up there, it's out of the way, and if you're looking at it, it means you're not looking at useful stuff like the Turf, Object, or Status tabs. Methods @xales suggests an external tool, a subdomain of Baystation users can go to, that would allow them to choose an object and fill out data for it. Said data would then go into a queue where staff can approve/deny it at will. @Zuhayr proposes some kind of wiki integration, using the data from an object's entry on the wiki to automatically populate the appropriate correlating data in-game. If you have any more ideas in this regard, discuss them here!
